Less well known than Rwanda for its endangered mountain gorilla experience, Uganda boasts more challenging terrain and far fewer people, offering a more pure and authentic experience. (And the gorilla permits are cheaper!) There is fantastic big game viewing in Uganda, along with tree climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park and some of the largest Nile crocodiles in the world.
